I fell off one of my horses this afternoon and it hurt. I havent fallen off for years and had forgotton what it felt like. Little miss spooked in the school and went down on her knees, i head butted her neck hard then went flying - without wings. Now have a very sore chin. When was the last time you fell off and how ???????????????????????????????

It wasnt really falling of but was going XC up the steps to a skinny and pippa stopped so i made her jump from a standstill, and a got spun round under her neck and was trotting of with me! Lol Everyone at somerford probs heard my helpless fits of laughter as she trotted round the XC course

Oooh dear, I hope you feel better soon!

My last fall was years ago, I was about twelve. The horse, Billy, saw something inexplicably scary outside the arena and legged it to hide behind his "girlfriend", a tiny little Welsh pony who was also in the group lesson (Billy, by the way, was a 15hh cob!). I tried so hard to stay in the saddle, but gravity got the better of me! My foot got stuck in the stirrup though, and I was pulled along upside-down for a few seconds before I finally hit the ground properly. It was a bit scary but I wasn't hurt, just a few scratches on my back from the arena surface!

Last time I fell off... my horse has a thing about other horses leaving the menage - he hates it. There were 4 people riding in the arena including me and one left - my horse decided to have a hissy fit about it and bolted. I tried to turn him, and he nearly rammed me into the fence, so I abandoned that idea, at which point we nearly ran straight into the back of one of my YO's horses! o.o Dodged around her and by that time I was kinda clinging on and he wasn't going to stop so I 'dismounted'... so I kinda fell off on purpose ;P Got a lovely view of his stomach and legs as he went flying off without me! xD wasn't hurt, just a little pissed of... silly horseh...

Today! I haven't fallen off for over a year. I don't like to make a habit of it, especially the older I get, you don't seem to bounce as well and the fact that my horsey is 17.1hh so its quite a way to fall!
Today I got jumped off at a little show. It was my fault, Jerry took a flyer in the jump-off because I turned him a bit too tight so he just jumped the fence instead of putting in the stride I thought he'd do!
I was unbalanced and came out the side door! Luckily it was a soft landing so no damage.

Poor you, it's always such a shock when you hit the floor.

Last time i fell off was the most stupid fall of all time, i was just hacking out on the same route i have been for 7 years, i was chatting away not really paying attention and my horse litrally just stepped sideways to avoid a plastic bag (blumming letter bugs) it wasnt even a spook just a gentle sidestep at the next thing i knew i had plopped on the floor.. needless to say i was very red faced and wasn't best pleased to look up and see my mother dearest in fits of histerical laughter!!

I don't fall off - I get physically ejected

Except for the other day when I fell off before I got on!!!!!!

Was using 2 orange milk crates one on top of the other to get on in the school. They are usually tied together but...........

Anyway, I placed them at the side of my horsy while my new instructor went to hold my other stirrup.

I put my foot in the stirrup and the next thing I knew I was flat on my back on the floor.

The milk crates had zoomed out from underneath me and were on the fllor under my horse - who never moved a muscle -just looked at me with a bored look on his face and did a big sigh

The funniest thing about it is it was only my second lesson with new instructor and I fell off in the first lesson too!!!!!!!!!!

fell off a share horse. I was trying to trot him over a pole and he ran out, so tried again. Second time he sort of skewed around and over it, put his head down and bronced. I did 4 laps of the school with his head between his knees, lost my reins, still hanging on, stirrup went, eventually one huge buck and I went about 9ft in the air and came flat down on my back. He then kicked out and whacked the peak of my hat so my glasses went into my nose. I had whiplash and 2 black eyes

my last fall was very dramatic - I was on a horse safari and in the middle of a very long (5km) VERY fast gallop, my horse spooked at something and i went flying. It's not ideal to be on the floor waiting for rescue landrover as youve taken too much of a battering to get back on when you're in a game reserve that's filled with lions and stuff, and there's a family of hyeena's patrolling just up the track.

Anyway, OUCH!

**EDIT - oh, actually that's a lie - my last fall was actually a couple of weeks ago - i slid off the other side when i was trying to mount during a bareback lesson...
