Ho hum :(
Sorry, long!!
Not had a good day, was riding out at work and my horse ran up the back end of another horse as we were about to jump off at the bottom of the gallops. Cue horse in front bucking and booting me right in my knee. Screamed some swear words but stood up and went up the gallops in pain, luckily coming back down the rest of the string walked so I didn't have to stand up again. Was sent back to the yard, knee wasn't hurting but I felt all weird and sick and wanted to cry but wasn't sure why.Got back and got off, someone took my horse to do her up and I had to go into the office to go in the accident book. My knee still wasn't hurting walking across the yard to the office so thought I was fine. When I got in there the lady who is the first aider asked if I was okay and I said I was fine. She then looked a bit worried when I sat down saying, "You must have cut it, there's blood on your jeans." Then I was a bit worried as I was wearing jods under my jeans but thought as it didn't hurt it couldn't be that bad, so imagine the shock I got when I took my jeans off and pulled up my jods and saw a massive cut, so deep I could see the bone in my knee  Quickly covered it up and burst into tears (not sure why though!) and was taken to hospital. They x-rayed it and said it wasn't broken or anything so that was good, I then had to have seven stitches in it and had a tetnus booster. I hate needles and hate pain .. so it's lucky it wasn't painful as I think I'd have screamed the place down. Off work now for 10 days, so have come home as I live at work, which is good in a way, but Ethel is kept just down the road from work so now I wont see her for ages :( Luckily I have a good friend at work who is happy to do her the whole time I'm off and I can't thank her enough but I'm gonna miss her loads :/ Hey ho.. these things happen around horses I guess ..

Oooo. Poor you. That is a bit rubbish. At least nothing broken though and you'll be back at it in no time. Last time I had a gallops related accident I couldn't walk for four months or ride for nine.

Is your mum taking good care of you. Quite nice to be at home in the build up to Christmas really. I'm sure Ethel will survive without you. Maybe she'll be fat by the next time you see her!

Bet thats gonna hurt in the morning, i got a kick on the knee (no where near as bad as yours from the sounds of it) and was in agony.

Hope it heals nice and quick, Bio oil is really good for helping scars heal once the stitches are out, x

Thanks guys :)

jesstickle - Yeah I think I was lucky not to have broken it, don't think I'd have made it up the gallops if I had!! I'm certain my friend will take excellent care of Ethel, she loves her almost as much as I do! Haha hopefully she will have put on some weight :)

Haha Allover!! :D My mum actually wanted to take a pic but I told her she wasn't allowed in case I ever saw it and vommed all over the place. I never EVER want to see it until it's healed, even then I wont like the scar .. but when mother changes the dressings and I'm hiding under a pillow, I'll ask her to take a pic and you can all see my lovely stitches .. but I'll try not to look :D

Ouch you poor thing. Hope that you recover without any complications. Don't think I'd want to see piccies either from what you've said...
