Quick queston: (if you dont mind)

Pony has been barefooted for a while, fine on most things odd ouchy moment on gravel car park (working on that - shame she has decided not to eat her minerals at the moment)

Anyway I digress .....

My question is simplez...... would she feel more walking down the lorry ramp than when she was shod.....

She seems to be coming down slower than usual ... it is an ifor williams on lorry back so quite steep. However is she slower coz she is anticipation pain when she hits gravel car park or slower as she can feel her feet???

Many thanks

I would say that she is slower because she can feel her feet.
My horse(barefoot) is quite slow going down the steep tarmac road from my house. Most people with shod horses have to dismount and lead because the road is too slippery to ride on.
Barefoot horses are much more aware of what is under their feet.
