Very chuffed with new beast. He has never done an event, let alone dressage on grass with lots of distractions(and very windy)got 43,not grt but judge obv a mean women and Mr P was having a good look at everything(man&dog standing right on the bl**dy corner),plus a very wobbly centre line x2(oh well, can only get better).clr sj,he found it very easy and clr xc ,wahey,!!BUT 26 time pen's as he's STILL so strong and i had to pull him up once or twice to try and get him to listen to his lil mummy on-board yanking! (used comfort snaffle combo bit)Very pleased with him and really cudnt have asked for a better result from the tank.Look 4ward to the nxt one now he knows what its all about.Just hope we can have a little more brakes xc tho???wud be nice Mr p!!!x

Lol thats the jump J knocked the pole off! Was a v windy day wasn't it! Well done on DC - we had 4 in SJ and stupid stop XC but had a fab day out!

Well done. Bitter wasn't it, though it was OK when the sun was out. I was FJing at fence 18 and remember seeing you and your super boy.

The howling wind kept blowing all my score sheets about so I sat in the car in the end and hoped that my whistle blowing could be heard by the not very many spectators walking the course.

Was it just me being dense, only I couldn't find the d......d place this morning. I drove down every possible lane around Munstead for an hour before I found myself heading towards the centre of Godalming where I found what appeared to be the only sign. And every horse box I saw, and tried to follow, turned out to be leaving, so I ended up even further away

re: bits - the comfort snaffle combo really isn't strong. it didn't touch my mare, was just like having a normal snaffle in. for James (other tb i evented last year) it was a teensy bit more than a snaffle, and just what he liked. anything stronger, and he concentrated so much on his bit he hit fences.
if horse likes the combo action, try a totally different mouthpiece. i have 2 you can try if you want, triple barrel mouthpiece long shank and big ported mouthpiece (double bubble sides so can be used long or short.)

well done lou - brilliant for your first event. sounds like you're going to end up with arm muscles like Popeye!!
