Well woke up and tada' its sunny in good old Lincolnshire, got up to about 15 degrees in midday sun perfect :) having planned a nice long hack with both Tessy and Mum on the bike i set off to the stable to retrieve her only to discover she had done some redecorating

Clearly the blue bucked didn't match her rug silly me so she demolished it and then had the decency to batter me round the head with said bucket whilst i picked her feet out:cool:

Set off for a lovely 3ish mile hack round the village and out into the fields, she was perfect had a long canter on the verge and her little ears were forwards having a ball of a time until..... DUN DUN DUN

We go to "the house" and instantly Tess started doing her swag walk ( the pottery is that going to kill me walk) she has always been spooky round this house that has a large hole outside of it and today was no different. But then the worst thing ever appeared a man... yes and wait for it.. A DOG. This lovely looking greyhound raced towards the fence full of beans and Tess decided the best plan of action was to turn into a giraffe on roller skates, the man started shouting at the dog who was having a ball of a time and Tess decided it was all to much for this teenie little 14.1 furrball she made a trumpet noise with her huuuuge schnozzle and turned to face the evil beast..

Upon realising it was only a dog she decided to say hello and whinnied to both man and dog before trying to keep any form of self diginity and walked on again. During this i couldn't help but laugh this is a horse who happily walked past a tractor dumping rocks by the side of us ( nice timing from the farmer) but this house is her worst nightmare :D

So asked the guy if he could leave said dog outside and he happily agreed and we did 10 minutes of bombproofing, lots of pats and polos later she was happy enough :)

What did you get up to today ?

Nothing much really, the most exciting thing I've done today is clipping my two cats and three bitches claws.

Just wanted to say that your horse is really cute and she sounds to be lots of fun to own.

Admittedly, when I read about "the house", I began wondering if I should expect something like this...

Or this...

Maybe full of this...

Didn't expect this...

We went out for a fab hack this morning, using the bridleways for the first time this spring. Very muddy as the hunt's been along them and it's a bit of a challenge as we are talking seven gates , so that was our mission for schooling today. And bless him, he was brilliant - we got through each one with no bother at all - don't know why I was worried.

Always handy when they are good with gates :D good boy shy:cool:

Tigger and I went for a lovely long drive, the second one since Saturday. Loved every second of it and I think he did too!

Sounds amazing would love to try driving :)

Thought I would be able to get out on my new hairy beast I've started to share but it was so foggy I thought it would be unsafe trafficwise so decided to leave Sam in the field. We'll try again tomorrow, hopefully it'll stay dry long enough.

What a lovely post, great images :D

I did some in hand with both boys tonight. I left the old fella in the school, with the poles laid out in an L shaped alley for his backing up, turning and backing up again practice, while I ran in to the block to get some herballs for his stretches at the end. When I got back he'd manoeuvred himself in to the alley and was standing smack in the middle of the long side, very 'relaxed' with everything showing. What a sight! He loves his in hand work LOL!

Little fella was a very good boy and is improving each week :)

You were lucky to have some sunshine, I'm in North Lincolnshire and the fog was really thick most of the day. No riding for me, turned Oakley out this morning, he looked at me in disgust. It was like"you can't be serious, why would I want to leave my nice cosy stable and go out in this!":D

Haha! Gorgeous horse btw :D

I gave Ned's pen an extremely thorough muck out, a 45min job took me nearly 2hrs!!

I then decided to groom Spike, a little pony I'd love to own! He's the most gorgeous pony ever! He returned to the yard to after a long time, I used to do in-hand shows with him :) he sure has changed! He used to be a beautiful dark dapple grey and this is him now!!

I went for what will probably be my last ride on my horse for a while - I'm 20 weeks pregnant. I decided to go down to the beach as it was low tide, braving the traffic in the horrid fog!
He was a star as usual, we walked along the sand and when we tried a trot I felt like I had rocks in my belly - baby is getting heavy now! So we just had a walk, found a nice spot for a canter and horsey seemed to know I needed to take it steady. Felt like a sack of potatoes on his back as we rode home, so I've brought my riding hat and boots home from the yard (to avoid temptation) and will put them away for the next 6 months or so.
I felt a little sad but I have a lovely loaner for my horse and so he will be well cared-for and have lots of adventures with her.
