Our country is gone to the dogs...

I don't really understand how the law in that country functions. Animal cruelty aside, imagine if the horses on the verges and the horses pulling traps had been cars or motorbikes instead - speeding along footpaths and crashing into other drivers or members of the public. *Surely* they wouldn't get away with that? Or maybe they would. I genuinely don't know. Presumably there are some more local people who have a more informed view of how the whole system does (or doesn't) work.

Its absolutely horrendous. How do they have so little mass in their horses :(

I can't bring myself to watch it, having witnessed some horrific stuff in real life as you probably have too (not sure what part of the country in), but i agree. The complete lack of respect shown to these animals. About 20 years ago we saw a pony who couldn't have been more than 2 killed on the road in Limerick city and things haven't improved since.

I can confirm it happens in Surrey, too. They regularly race up and down the A24 South of Dorking.
I don't know about UK, but over here you cant say a word against these people because of there "ethnic minority", its absolute BS. Our Guards wont even go near them because they are a law unto themselves.

So very true, it makes you think guards are frightened of them….so bring on army….day in day out, they hammer horses, often baby horses on, believe of it or not main roads, including motorways….

Just looking at FB & see a horse left for dead on the side of the road Gloucestershire, unusually a appaloosa but guess what the usual suspects x
Appaloosas seem to be becoming popular among that community, I suppose they look pretty and flashy, so easier to sell once it’s so broken they can’t hammer it flat out on roads anymore.

Last I saw the horse was still with the owner. Let's guess what will happen.....
Yup, apparently there's a second video circulating of the horse with stitches on his face and owners taking antibiotics? from someone!
I honestly don't understand how they're so above the law!
Being able to keep their horses on random bits of public land, and all us having to pay through the nose to afford to keep our babies

Happens in Oxfordshire as well. Recent races held on A40 at Witney. Not forgetting the annual awful jamboree at Stow on the Wold.
