Our doggie Barney

what is it that's actually wrong with him and what food does he have to have? surely there must be an option you can afford...

Raw food, nice and easy, it doesn't need supplementing with loads of minerals and vitamins, they're already in there.

Is this a begging post? Sorry, if you can't afford to feed your dog, there is an easy answer. Or search the good food threads on here (Dry dog food index in the Forum Stickies section)

I think this thread is a little strange, little info from the original poster (can't afford special food + please vote on our dog and link to a foreign web site), but I still voted on the cute little dog :).

But equally I find it strange that people without knowing why the dog needs a special food, suggest that feeding raw can solve the OP's problem. For example, the dogs with liver problems that I know of, have been recommended to eat a diet with as little meat as possible, because a diet low on meat can help the liver to function as well as possible, the more meat, the higher risk for that the liver's ability to work will decrease and the higher risk for that the level of toxins in the liver will increase.

So if the reason for needing special food is a medical condition, like liver problems, meat allergy or something like that, the suggestions about trying to feed a raw diet based on meat, isn't always neither a money saving nor a healthy suggestion, which hypothetically could lead to more veterinary visits, or worse scenarios, if the liver stops to function.

This! Not convinced by a new user doing this and giving no details?
