Well S and I had our first lesson Yesterday and there were good points and bad points and RI agrees with me VERY confused baby. DM was there with D and she had a good lesson and D was a different wee horse at the end :)

We started off by warming up in all gaits and RI watched, said S is VERY green and her canter is scary to watch (she should bleeding feel it!!! Wall of death lol :eek:)

Then we got down to work, S had a few tantrums and planted a few times (her major work avoidance technique) but we got her going again ;). Her other form of work avoidance was to try to brain me :rolleyes:

We were doing circles in every corner, slowing down the trot then going forwards again and transitions, all things I have been working on, and this si where I can say she AINT fit, for all that shes hacking fit shes not schooling fit and Im going to have to get that rectified :p

Ive made a vid of some of the clips, not all of them as they are pretty repetitive. We also popped a few poles, mostly for D's sake and to get DM sorting out his refusing ;) Ive made a separate vid of that.

I think your mare looks fab, riding the wall of death is no mean feat, somethig I am avoiding with mine at the moment, so I am humbled by your bravery! Well Done, Gorgoeus pone by the way!

What a pretty face she has and I do wish mine would lift his feet as nicely over poles, and over jumps! Bailey is certain that poles are for kicking :p :rolleyes:
Loving the picture of her trying to brain you! She was most defiantly going for that :p

Well I think for a first lesson, that looks like it has gone rather well :D

Will be a while to get there but Im sure she will come right, thats if I dont have several black eyes anyway lol ;)

Will be interesting to see what difference is in her in 4 weeks at our next one :)
 
Very nice hind leg over the poles, i think she will be lovely! My boy has a few evasion techniques trying to run through his shoulder and our canter often resembles the wall of death too :p
 
I think your weight falls too far back on her spine. In your rising trot you push away her lower back, which probably accounts for her look of discomfort and also leaves you 'behind the movement' when the jump comes.

She looks like a very kind and honest horse, but I would hone rider position and balance before jumping.
 
Thanks, mondy she's very upright at the front which gives the illusion I'm landing too far back, I'm sure if my RI was concerned about this she would have pointed it out ;) :)

She is very stop start as only knows 100 mph or nothing RI wanted a complete picture before breaking things down :)
