So, pony and I did our first dressage test today and it was very...interesting
Got to the yard in the rain to find that he had rolled in a lovely muddle puddle while in the field
So stood him under the shelter to dry off and my sister very kindly did his plaits and helped me groom him
I then went and did the test, I wasn't particularly nervous but knew that he was going to be a bit spooky, so I was a bit on edge which I suppose wasn't ideal. Anyway, pony seemed to think that the little pot plants at each corner were specifically there to hunt him down and eat him-he did NOT like those one bit
He didn't want to move and then backed up very quickly and I found myself hanging off the saddle looking at the underneath of his neck
Slithered back on and we had some more hesitations and he decided that the white boards were even scarier and while spooking from them banged into the wall and spooked from that
We finally got into the arena and did our test, not very well as he was still certain that the plants were going to eat him but we tried our best
Was very surprised at the end when we got 6th place! Out of 12
and some nice comments from the judge too
Very pleased with the baby po and will definitely do some more!
