If you do watch the vid, please ignore the lilac johds, they make my ass look huge, and really show the dent in my right thigh (from when I fell off in a coffin

Anyway, loaded ready to go

May's face was a picture after we warmed up and she first saw into the areana!! I was more scared of the brush fence I had to jump - (this is the SJ venue where I broke my leg 7wks ago!!)

Started off well, it did go a bit pear shaped, but for a first attempt she was great!

Started off with our slow canter - fine, cones fine, Canter though a small space - oops! Did the jump but not very stylish! Anyway, you can see the rest if you can be bothered to watch it all! The walk at the end was very good!

Well done Lisa. She was good around the bending poles, but dont think she was keen on limbering under the pole!

Looks like you had fun anyway!

She managed to trash the bridge! Then she was supposed to stand/immobility in that circle, but decided to follow me! ooops.

Karen, I'm surprised she did'nt do that after that hack with your Sarah yesterday, had to duck under loads of low branches!

Looks like you had fun!! she did really well for her 1st time! Am impressed she went over the bridge she really didnt want to and my horse would have freaked out when it fell to pieces!! Was a fairly similar course to the one i did ( wander if they are all the same??) although we didnt have the poles to go under and had a sheet of blue taurpaulin to lead over instead. Skye wouldnt do the stand in the circle thing either dont think she could understand why i was leaving her!! did you get your score sheet at the end?? you get loads of points for the fast walk and slow canter and your canter looked good!
Any plans to do anymore??

The organiser is posting the score sheet out, I did'nt have time to wait today. Definitely plan to do some more, great fun! Also want to do the two day ones in the summer where you camp over and do some orienteering - Not sure what May will make to her new career...........

Well done both of you!! I didnt realise it was Vallients where you broke your leg!! That place hates me, i never seam to go well in there, but my mum is interested in doing Trec so is it possible you could tell me where/ when it is on?? Also is Osbaldeston doing the indoor x-c again this winter?? cheers Jess xxx

Redwood, the info about TREC dates is on www.bhs.org.uk look for TREC dates by region. The next one in Lancashire (I think) will probably be in February at Broomhill in Clitheroe (so Diane who organised yesterday's comp has told me). Yes, Obsbaldeston are running JAS - from memory 27th Jan - see www.bdwp.co.uk. (Don't you love the internet). PS Kangaroo - my mare and May's mother - was 4th at the Trec competition yesterday (I was very proud of her!)

Glad you enjoyed it - May was certainly the prettiest and shinest there yesterday - will you do the one in Feb do you think?

Thats excellent well done
