I bought Lola in July 2012. She is an 8yr old Hanoverian by Wanninger. Although she is 8 yrs old she has the mind of a 4yr old as she was backed and left. She was then sold as a 6yr old and bred a foal
I took her right back to the beginning and started again basically. I bought her for me and my daughter to share which so far is working well ;)
It took a few months to find a saddle and I gave her a couple of months off after her foal was weened from her foal in July, so she's been in work probably approx three/four months.
She is a wonderful person to handle and on the ground and so far is proving to be a lovely ride.
It's a breath of fresh air to ride something that isn't spooky, unlike the big chap Otto who is terrified of a breeze!! She is sharp but in the right ways.
Our aim is just to compete lightly this spring/summer and get her use to travelling around for lessons and the odd trip out to the woods.
I've added some photos of my daughters recent lesson and a couple of my lessons.

The first two are me, about two months ago

The next ones are my daughter taken yesterday,

Really good thread!

She looks lovely :). I have a nice filly out of Wanninger who is ready for backing now, they are very similar looking particularly in the head, and she has the same star as well :). She is a lovely person to have around so hoping she proves equally nice ridden, your girl looks lovely - how big is she?. Have you done any jumping with her or is she purely a dressage prospect? :)

looking super and wow at how much Emily has grown since ive known you guys :)

NMT and I were saying last night what a lovely quiet, consistant position she has.

Ahh, thats nice. I told Emily and she was pleased at what you said. She is a really nice, neat rider.

She's a bit tense when she first got on Lola on Saturday for the lesson. Lola kept just trying to canter rather than trot so Emily said she was getting off. I said 'No you aren't' and Emily was glad she didn't in the end. ;)

The mare is a big jump up from a 13.2 but Emily rides her well and will get use to her :)

She is out of a mare by Crown Marcasite which I don't know much about to be honest but was bred by some show jumpers but proved clumsy so they didn't do anything else with her once she was backed :)
My mare is approx 16.2. She is quite long backed (some mares just are, aren't they) though and is in 6ft 9 rugs which I thought was quite long as the large boy who is 17.2 is in 7ft
I don't really jump anymore so probably won't do any myself but my daughter might, for fun

How big and what age is your filly? Did you see Wanninger died not so long ago?

Ahh yes Im not sure how good at jumping my girl will be! When shes paying attention she moves beautifully floating round the field, but when I'm leading her she sometimes is away with the fairies and trips over her own hooves! Time will tell I guess.
Ahh mines 17.1hh already (she takes a 6ft6 rug atm but is still filling out so I reckon she will be in a 6ft 9 when older). My girl will be 4 in April. Shes out of one of the stud mares & different dam line to yours so they are half sisters :).

Oh thats sad :( I just looked on their FB page. Still he lived to a good age, I saw him when he must have been 27/28 and he still looked really good. He was also a lovely lad, my girl has inherited his love of face scratches too :D.

She looks lovely :) I agree with PS Emily looks so much taller than when we saw you at AUK!

Cant wait to meet her at a comp over the summer :D

BYR, we are looking forward to competing :)
Emily doesn't like people saying she's tall lol she isn't as tall as me though and I keep telling her she's stopped growing :D She says she 'doesn't want to look to big on Mattie'

becca1305: Your girl is big then but sounds like shes got a lovely nature, like Lola. Lola does move nicely too which is a plus for us doing dressage.
I was going to go and see Wanninger last year but didn't get around to it, pity :( I think there's a lot of his youngstock around though
Good luck with you mare. Show us some photos :)
