Our Shagya Arab home breds at Lion D'angers

I don't compete so spend more time on the breeders forum but thought I would post these photos as we are just a bit proud of full brother/sister bred by us on our small stud. Also in Breeders' Forum


Last weekend we took two Shagya's to Lion D'Angers, 5 YO Antigone had qualified for the Regional finals and has 4 faults in her 95 cm class for young horses. She is in the sheepsking noseband.

Her brother 7YO spent 2014 competing in endurance, completing 3 x90km for his stud book approval. This is his first full year as a SJ his third clear round at 95cm, the previous weekend he had 4 faults in a 1.1m class.

Beautiful horses! I had a grey arab that was a showjumper, he was amaze. I have big soft spot for grey arabs .

I have to say I really enjoy your posts and your promotion of shagya's and CB's as a sport breed.

?? I don't have any messages? Pleased you like him. We planned to sell him this year but have changed our minds. Partly because our stallions have such a good life and we would want him looked after.

Read about Aston Answer on Breeders Forum. She was Milton's dam, registered as BWB she was actually an Anglo-Shagya Arab her grandsire was BASA Shagya XX-3 who was imported to the UK from Hungary. The Anglo Shagya Arab Ramzes is often referred to as the sire of the century, he sired the Raimond Ramiro Z blood lines.

The Shagya is a substantial horse breed standard is 15,2hh-16.0hh. Antigone is 16hh.
