Went to the annual local show here today...shall keep it brief as I've been up since 6am and am knackered lol!
He behaved fab for 99% of it...[decided his lorry buddy was his long lost brother and got renamed Paverotti for all the calling he did all day!!!]
Did our first open WH...didn't come anywhere as we got a refusual...all my fault. Backed off coming into the double which I should have corrected and we then ran out of room when we got there with our knitting all knotted so to speak, so jumped it from a stand still and twisted to clear it bless him and I lost my reins and was offset in the saddle landing and then just couldn't get it together in time to kick on and jump out sadly. And they only called the clear rounds back in so that was our WH career lol. He LOVED the fences though so shall def do it again.
Open SJ, we had 2 or 3 rails down I think, got in close and just chipped them...my fault, should have known better than to collect and should have just let him stag them! And on the treble, he backed off again coming into it,went to stop but I kicked him on and we climbed over it knocking the first rail then pony club kicked him the rest of the way and managed to climb through the rest of it clearl, somehow!
And RoR...we came away with a 3rd
I'd been having issues with our right canter transition all day so opted out of [or 'Forgot' rather
] including a canter on our right rein in our individual. It was the last class of the day,we'dbeen there and hours and he'd worked so so hard for me and been so well behaved, I just didn't want to end on a low having our right leg canter issues. So made the decision not to do it. Another show, another day to work on that. For today, he'd been so chilled and well behaved and did his BEST individual to date....that was more than enough for me
So anyway. A few photos
There's a looooverly one of the WH jumping that I'll link to when it's on the website. I may even buy it as I love it that much lol!
