Out bid again !

Just checked my ebay bid on a electric fence energiser and yet again i,m out bid. Looks like i am going to have to buy a new one, its the third one i,ve bidded on lost the first two by pennies . Hubby,s work as gone downhill so trying to ecominise and as i only need to electrify 200 metres i dont need a strong one, think i will bid one more time on this one and if i lose again bite the bullet and a buy new one.

It's very often better to place your bid in the last few seconds of the auction if you can as then any others interested in the auction don't have time to think if they want to up their bid. Also they won't have time to place a new bid. Try bidding an odd amount, not a round number of pounds, bid an amount with some pence on it & you to may find you will be the one beating other bidders by pennies. It doesn't always work, but on many occasions it does.

Try one or both of these two free snipe sites. I don't bid any other way. It allows me to set my maximum bid and go away and forget about it. Then I come back to an email that says I've won

Also if you change your mind before the end of the auction for any reason you just log on and cancel your queued "snipe" (snipe being last second bid). Bidding this way stops you declaring your hand too early and the price creeping up in a bidding war.
