The owner is a ****. He thinks it’s fine. The Mail comments are full of ‘dog licences, permanent on lead and muzzled will solve this!’ Except it won’t because you, me and everyone who is responsible will do it, and those who don’t give a fig for the law won’t. Just like today, where this **** let his dog savage two horses, he doesn’t care about the law that already exists, and people who own dogs like that generally don’t. The rest of us have to pay.

Everything about this story is enraging. I wish one of the horses had kicked the dog and the owner straight to hell. In real terms, I wish the dog was taken from him, cost 5k to get back, and if he didn’t pay in a week pts. Sue me. I’ve had enough of this.

Ooops, was going to delete that🙄 but why is he talking to see the papers. Surely he should be under arrest for something, I don't know what, damaging police property at the very least or something.
If his dog attacked your animals I think the police would not be interested. Hopefully they’ll step up as it’s one if their own. 🤷‍♀️

Because the Press doorstepped him and he's not bright enough to say no, I am assuming.

Absolutely agree. Dog dangerously out of control? Surely to god that’s in the Dangerous Dogs’ Act?

Both he and the dog need PTS, watching that I wish the horse had squashed it. Once the dog got a taste it was never going to stop. Yes it’s on the owner to control the dog blah blah it get that I’ve had dogs all my life but after watching that I’m enraged. Hopefully he will get prosecuted and banned for life from having a dog.

In Italy that dog would have been tazered or shot.
Do uk police not carry above weapons.?

In London where this happened the police are if anything a bit overenthusiastic with tasers however i wouldn't have thought mounted police would carry them as horses are used for for general or crowd control rather than disarming or arresting an individual. Police don't ordinarily carry guns in the uk and given how close it was wouldn't have been safe to use.

Hope the horse recovers well.
