How much do people pay for livery;
-Diy
-Part
-Full

also what does this include in your price and where in the country are you? Possibly be looking at renting/buying somewhere for livery next year and needed to work out realistic livery prices and things to offer customers.

thanks for reading

Lancashire
35 per week for DIY. This includes stable, haylage and great facilities.
Last yard I was at was putting prices up to 64 a week for what they called part livery. All you got for that was stable, haylage and basic feed and either a turn out or bring in. Thought this was very expensive for part livery hence I left

I'm in the expensive SouthEast.

DIY: £38.50/week incs stable, storage, locked tack rooms, floodlit full-sized school, AYTO. We have a kitchen, loo, washing machine etc, and services available.

At same yard, part livery is about £110/week I think, which includes all services & feeds, but no riding/grooming/tack cleaning.

Schooling livery I am currently paying £165/week for, but I think it should be more like £180 around here.

I pay £14.50 a stable with all year grazing, 3/4 mile gallop, walker, round canter like a gallop and a round sand ring. All stables have rubber matting and a window. I have to buy all my hay and bedding in. Small private yard with just 3 of us that get on well no bitchy people.

£63 part - stable, grazing in herds, turnout / bring in, muck out, rug changes, feed. Includes basic feed, bedding and haylage, plus holding for vet / farrier etc. Doesn't include grooming or riding. I think it's a bargain.

Bedfordshire
DIY: £25 a week for stable with rubber matting in American Barn, 24/7 turnout if wanted, kitchen but no loo, motion activated lights in field for winter and outside school. Amazing yard owners too :D Only share yard with one other lady. Wonderful hacking close by. It's bliss!

No bedding/haylage etc included.

Full livery in Maryland USA = $720 (£445) a month (£110/week)
Field boarding (i.e. you get the field and use of facilities except stables, but you do everything yourself) = $360 (£223) a month (£56)

(facilities = indoor arena, outdoor arena, grass jumping arenas, xc course, on site competitions, round pen, miles of off road trails, steeplechase schooling course)

I'm in Bristol and pay £22 a week for a huge stable, 24/7 turnout over the summer, in at night in the winter, a big outdoor arena (with lights), storage and a toilet (such a luxury!) Additional services are available - £1.50 for checking/turning out or bringing in and £5 for a full muck out, fresh hay and water in.

We each buy our own hay and bedding (big bale hay and straw is available direct from the yard for competitive prices) and have storage available for it.

My boy's out in a big field with 10 other geldings.

Lancashire £35 DIY ad lib haylage , flood lit school ,off road hacking,x/c course YO even gives me barn space for 30 bales nice friendly great yard .we also have static caravan with toilet tv kettle changing room

Im in the north east (county durham) and the yard were currently at is FAB £30 per week. all year round turnout in great fields, a gallop, off road hacking, cross country course, jumping field, floodlit indoor, ad lib haylage (gorgeous... Would almost eat it myself) and as much straw as you need as well as lorry/trailer parking.
at my old yard it was £20 per week for turnout 24/7 in summer half day in winter floodlit indoor and an outdoor (poxy surface) then it was £10 for haylage (2 nets per night of poor quality stuff) and then you had to buy your straw from them at £30 per bale

I don't know if this would be within what you want to know as we are on grass working livery - this includes 24/7 turnout, bringing in and taking out for me, rugs on and off, feed + supplemental hay when needed, holding for farrier/vet etc, being ridden (in lessons) when I can't get there and schooling. I pay £180 per month. I'm in the (expensive?) SE. As I can't get there during the week (term time, anyway) I appreciate the riding/schooling most!

Thanks for your replies most seem to fit into the sort of prices we were thinking. do people prefer haylage/ hay and straw provided or to source it yourselves? At my current yard our YO supplies it for 12 a week ad lib both hay and straw we like it as it takes the worry away but what do others think?? Thanks x

Oops! Forgot to say we have an indoor school, tea room, loo, lockable tack store and very nice off road hacking.

We pay £75 pcm for stable and grazing with outdoor school, excellent hacking. V small yard - just 2 of us on there.

We were quoted at a nearby yard £125 pcm stable and grazing, outdoor school, excellent hacking, and ad lib haylage. Medium sized yard.

OH pays £25 pcm for stable and grazing, outdoor school, xc course, but limited hacking (pretty road locked with v busy roads). Huge yard attached to a riding school.

Derbyshire - All DIY

YO supplies it for 12 a week ad lib both hay and straw we like it as it takes the worry away but what do others think?? Thanks x

I think that sounds like a good deal, esp if you have a big horse! Our 16.3 will get thru at least one bale of hay a night at 3.50-4 a bale so over 25.00 a week just for his hay - let alone bedding!

Full livery near me with tremendous facilities is £80 a week. Sounds not a bad deal to me. I am considering seeing if I could take my new youngster there for a couple of months over the winter to get her going.

Eta they don't ride them, I meant to get her going using their facilities not them doing the getting going.

East Midlands, £20 a week. Including a really big stable. 20x40 flood lit rubber school. My own half acre. I supply everything. We are only allowed to use straw bedding due to muck heap disposal. Wonderful YO. But if you want anything doing/mending you do it yourself. I am currently paying for a small corral to be built outside my stable. I'm really happy with the price. Oh hacking is ok but you do need to negotiate a roundabout to get anywhere decent! X
