Out of interest, will diesel price put you off competing, camps etc ?

No, I'm firmly back in team YOLO after the last couple of years, so doing everything whilst I still can.
That said I can't do back-to-back weekends anymore, but that's due to my energy levels, not fuel prices.
If we can't get fuel then I'll have to stop but I now realise it really does have an impact, having missed years due to foot and mouth, covid etc.

Luckily my horse is now retired so trailer and towing vehicle were sold a while back. I share a little place with a couple of friends so we have a yard rota so we don't all have to go there every day so saves a bit on fuel. Plus I'm not venturing so far afield to walk the dog, although I did make the effort to see the local Bluebell woods - so stunning and peaceful, that was a treat and worth every penny in petrol.

My thirsty diesel car is doing well over 55 mpg, over 60 mpg on good long runs. This does drop when towing though. It is a Mazda cx60 and after the shogun it is a nice surprise on the fuel economy.
i do a lot of pootling around on short trips so i don’t think i’d get the best out of one! what’s the towing capacity on the mazda?

I don’t have ponies anymore so no competing but it’ll certainly clip my wings when it comes to spectating at events, I frequently travel 60/80 miles to spectate and will now be picking the events very carefully and dropping many.
I also live on a boat with diesel propulsion and heating so need to fill that up too, thank goodness we haven’t needed the heating recently!
