What rugs are your horses wearing overnight tonight?

And are they in our out? Clipped or not?

Just interested, as I added a few tonight so was just wondering how many or few others are putting on...

Oh, and it's -7 here tonight...

Mine has a Bucas heavyweight over a Musto stablerug. And leg wraps on all four legs. He's clipped out (see pics) and toasty (except when I take them all off and send him out to play in the snow nekkid).

I spoilt Lacey tonight.
She has a chaser-type clip and is wearing two coolers and a MW combo turnout. (one cooler is a cotton sheet and the other slightly thicker)
It was -14 at 8.00 this morning so god knows what the nightime temperatures were like.

In, though I nearly left him out as it is a pain trying to get there. He has finally gone up to a HW rug with MW neck cover. As soon as it hits zero again he'll be back in MW I suspect. He's fully clipped including full face and ears. I relented and left the legs on this time, though I did clip them out the first time he was done in the Autumn.

He's clipped out except legs and in tonight.

He's got a mark todd under rug/blanket with a neck although this is folded back half way or it strangles him! Heavy weight turn out with neck over that.

ETA - My elderly mare who is out 24hours and not clipped at all (very very woolly!!!) has a fleece, thick duvet and heavy weight turnout with neck on. She's probably better rugged up than B and she's got all her fur!

Both of mine are in american style barns.
My retired boy has two 400gm h/w's on.
My 4 year old has two m/w's on.
Neither are clipped, but neither have much coat.

have been in heavywieght with no neck but added necks today. TB and Pony (was fully clipped in sept) now looks like a yak. Both just back in work after eventers holiday. Very pleased I haven't clipped them yet. Will go back to no neck rugs asap[ to preserve their manes

Umm.. Winston is wearing his Mark Todd 400g stable rug with neck, thermatex and his WB 400g NZ over the top 24/7
Snoopy is wearing Amigo 100g stable rug with fleece over the top, MT stable rug with his NZ over the top of that when its really cold ie last night...-18 brrrr

Haven't put extra tonight, but mine are in a barn with doors closed so not quite as cold as outside stables. The clipped horses have two rugs (underug and heavyweight) and unclipped horses just one heavyweight. I tried not to go more complicated than that as when you have several to do it takes ages changing all the rugs. They are all nice and snug when I get there in the morning

In, unclipped. Was wearing a fleece with a coolex over the top, I've now upped it to a 300g stable rug.

I dread to think what those who had MW + fleece on in October are currently wearing

Crikey - how do you heave all that lot on???

Mine have...
full clipped - HW turnout with neckcover
not clipped but TB - MW turnout with neck cover

It was 'only' -9 here last night

They do always seem nice and warm under their rugs though.

Mine all have 'full clips' but pretty much grown out now. All of them have the choice of stable or concrete.

Skinny'ish TB - 450g Full Neck PE Rug
2.5 year old (unclipped) and Fat Cob - No Rugs, I feel rather mean
blush.gif

Verging on Fat half TB - 200g Full Neck PE Rug
Little Welsh B - 150g Stable Rug with no neck as he has no shelter bless him.
Fatt'ish pony - 200g Stable Rug with no neck.

My comp horses that are fully clipped have:

fleece/blanket
1 heavyweight without neck
1 heavyweight with neck.

The ones in the field that are unclipped just have 1 HW
The one that has a bit of a trace type clip has 2 HWs on

both fully clipped, legs off and stabled .
one has a snuggy hood, MT combo underrug on, rambo newmarket fleece and 200g Amigo TO on
the other has a sheet, rambo newmarket fleece and a 450g PE TO rug on

All in overnight
Song - full clip in work - i full neck snug rug and one normal snug
Buster - full work not clipped, poor boys its coming off tomorrow!! - full neck stable rug
Zac - growing out full clip, not in work - full neck mid weight turnout (ive run out of stable rugs!!)

TB, full clip apart from front of face ears and legs, was in work till the weather hit
frown.gif
one mw full neck rug and 375 stable rug, and she's toasty warm

Old boy is out 24/7 unclipped (looks like fluffy teddy bear) and now wearing a MW turnout. He is on retirement livery on fairly exposed land and although checked twice daily rugs arn't changed only adjusted etc (if they will be caught
smirk.gif
) so he will be in that rug for some time!

Fleur who has hunter clip is in 3 MW stable rugs at night, 2MW stable rugs during the day if in and if out HW full necked turnout with a LW turnout underneath. The yard though is on very exposed land on exmoor (well edge of

). Last year she had HW turnout or 2 MW for the very coldest weather and was snug as bug but this year have had to add to keep her warm.

Not that I have seen her for a week as its too dangerous to drive to the yard, thankfully she is on full and YO lives on site so its not an issue other than of course I would really like to ride
