*Outtakes* - a Bill compilation! Or, when it doesn't go quite to plan...

Oh I have laughed thanks for cheering me up I loved the alternative dressage at the end, brilliant! What a character Bill is :)

Oh my, he is a little monkey isn't he! The dressage at the end had me laughing out loud, sorry! :D

But he does have that loveable quality to him though, bless :)

This is brilliant - reminds me of that French and Saunders skit called 'Ponies' (no reflection on your riding by the way - I thought you were ace!) My favourite is the commentary from your (I'm presuming long suffering) OH. I'm showing my hubbie in the morning and holding your OH up as fine example of horse husband breed! x

Bill is fab!! What a monster he is!! I bet he has an irritatingly cute face after it all though !
I hope you win the Bill battle in the end though ;)
Q

Thank you; he does; and I hope so too! Sometimes it seems a long way off...

Lol, he does have a cute face as an enormous redeeming feature though ;)

I think pros have supercharged super strength thighs!!

I think they do ;) They make it look awfully easy.

What a monkey!!! Great videos and thanks for posting them. Certainly gave me a chuckle!

Bless him!

:D

That did make me laugh at the end with the dressage. I like the way you kept calm through out. I hope you and Bill are sorting yourselves out good luck.

Thank you! We always seem to be "in progress" of sorting things out ;)

Bill is hilarious, I was laughing so much at those dressage bits. I have a horrible feeling my Coco is a bit like Bill. Cannot believe you stayed on some of those I think I would have fallen off & then just tried to sneak off home without him. Mind you he's the sort who knows which is his box.

Haha yes Bill would always find a way home - whinnying in desperation at being left behind...

I'd like to hear more about Coco!

Oo he's a Sod isn't he! Great video :D

Thanks :)

He certainly is! :D

Haha it's the "lovable" bits that keep me going...

He is very long-suffering, bless him! I have asked him before whether he's embarrassed at shows being associated with me and Bill...he said he wasn't...although I suspect he may have been lying!!!

This is brilliant. What a monkey he was in the last Dressage test, so funny to watch thoough.

What is his age and breeding? He looks lovely.

He actually won that test! Goes to prove that when he's good, he's really very good. It's just a shame there are so many potentially Bill-eating tigers lurking everywhere.

He's 7, and an IDx (by Leeside Ranger - sire of lots of Irish jumping ponies). Unknown dam - I suspect she may have been a bit quirky

Oh I love him even though he is SUCH a monkey! You do really well, you are so patient with him. He's very attractive. The spook in the dressage reminds me of what Jae does, he's never done that in a test *touch wood not yet anyway!* but he does do it at home sometimes if something spooks him lol. The leap Bill did after the jump Jae went through a bit of a phase doing that when he got excited! Silly ginger ninja's! Hopefully Bill will get over the stopping lark once he realises it's just wasting extra energy. Norty Bill!!! :p

I have just burst into giggles in the middle of the office! Hilarious! Love the dressage and the way he jumps that horse eating pink wall for you in the end, despite being scared to go anywhere near it at first.

Oh my days you ride well, how patient and quiet! My favourite moment was in the dressage, you can hear someone say "what test is this?!" as you disappear down the arena, as if it was intended!!

LOL I left the sound on and I'm glad I did, your OH sounds fab "tsss" "ahhh" "oooh" "grrrr!" :D
Well done you so clearly so much patience, Bill looks great :)

Haha how amusing is that vid! You are so patient with him its unreal! Think i definitely would have lost my patience!

Well ridden though very nice and quiet!
I'm so glad my horse has only spooked probably once in 2 years!

I'm sat at my desk crying with laughter, what a cheeky monkey he is!!! Especially the dressage, it's like you can see his train of thought... :D

Love how you handle him though :)

Bless him.... He reminds me of Pie - so spooky (although we don't jump as high as you!!!) do you de-spook him at home? We jump hideous things at home like wheelbarrows draped in rugs, flappy luminous jackets over fences, tyres, plastic barrels - anything that we can add to the jumps to make them extra scary!

Thanks for posting that. Its really amused me and cheered me up that someone else goes through the same thing. Luckily I don't often have anyone videoing so there is no proof that it happened!

I loved the dressage ones :D, they reminded me so much of my old boy - one judge even commented 'well done for staying in the arena'.

Hopefully ;) (though I don't hold out much hope). And thank you for saying he's attractive - I really do think he's a handsome chappy. :)

I was *so* chuffed with him over the pink wall. The second time we came round to it he went to run out and then felt the fear and jumped it anyway. I was so so pleased with him as usually he feels the fear and runs away as fast as his little legs will carry him.

Haha yes that made me laugh! And thank you, I do feel like I ride dreadfully!

Gosh I wish Bill didn't spook. Unfortunately he even spooks at his shadow (honestly). Thank you :)

Love how you handle him though :)

Thank you! Wasn't expecting compliments on my riding/handling - quite the opposite!! I do think you can see Bill's little brain processing each thought ;)

We jump hideous things at home like wheelbarrows draped in rugs, flappy luminous jackets over fences, tyres, plastic barrels - anything that we can add to the jumps to make them extra scary!

To be honest I don't de-spook him half as much as I should. He's a bit odd as at home he's terribly spooked by hedges/trees/grass/mud but fine with barrels, cones, rugs, flappy things etc. I spend more time trying to de-spook him for hacking safely/sensibly, and less time de-spooking him to jumps. I must do more of it really, as it does hold us back so much.

Thanks for posting that. Its really amused me and cheered me up that someone else goes through the same thing. Luckily I don't often have anyone videoing so there is no proof that it happened!

The best moments are never caught on camera, are they?!

I loved the dressage ones :D, they reminded me so much of my old boy - one judge even commented 'well done for staying in the arena'.

I know that comment well ;) Our first ever dressage test comments were, "Oh my! Such enthusiasm!" (I think that gives you a fairly good description of the test :D)

Awww hes lovely and so funny. My boy stops like this with things hes not sure of - and then looks surprised as if to say "who put that jump there" but will jump it happily the second time.

Well I was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt  I don't actually think he always deserved it  However, until I felt like I was riding him properly I didn't want to enter into too many discussions lest I be blaming him for my faults! Plus he's got a monster buck in him if I tell him off - it's only a matter of time before I go sailing merrily through the air from it...

Hmmmm hehe he does have a sense of humour!

He is so part pony! Sounds just like my yellow pony, infact I have a very similar video  complete with similar comentry. I like the spook, stop, forget to do some thing with my feet and nearly fall on my face, its so familiar .

It's the look of surprise that's so frustrating - *how* can these horses not spot the jump that's directly in front of them until it's too late and they go "ooooo who put that there?" erm...it was ALWAYS there...

Haha then I share your pain :p
