Can anything be done about an owner over breeding their bitch.

Well you can complain to the Kennel Club but what the hell they actually do about it 
or if the bitch's owners give a toot about the ABS, whether the puppies get registered or not, etc.
Not sure if any of the welfare authorities can do anything about it.
Cayla will give you the best advice there is for any backyard/irresponsible breeder and tell you to hit them in the pocket and report them to the taxman - I bet anything they are not declaring income from all those puppies they sell as earnings, eh?!

No not declaring any income.
They are a x breed, poor dog is having 2 large litters a year.
Why did selling x breeds come about, when I was a kid you couldn't give them away, she sells hers for £250 a pup.
I know some say selling them rather than free to a good home, will hopefully mean a better home for the pup, but I think it is just means more dogs, this person certainly wouldn't be breeding if there was nothing in it for her.

Our dog warden is very good at keeping an eye on people overbreeding. I'm not actually sure he can do much as long as dogs are looked after, but his frequent visits seem to have put a few people off locally. Try having a word with the dog warden for your area.
