Over charged for castration?! How much did you pay?

When I had my shetland done it cost £250. That included the call out, him being knocked out completely as he was too close to the ground to do it standing up, anti-b's, anti-inflams and painkillers. Also included his booster for his tetanus to make sure he was up to date.

Exactly the same drugs etc as 4leggedfurries colt had but cost me £176 for a 2yr old Miniature Shetland colt and the vet commented how much it had taken to knock him out. Certainly a variation of prices round the country.

Sounds a good price to me!- count yourself lucky, my little man has just come back from a leading equine hospital to be castrated, (he had to have a closed castration under GA) and it was not far off £800.00 and that was with a £200 discount! - and thankfully no complications.

Then theres still a normal vets bill to pay as well- so prob all in all won't be far off 1k!
