Looking for a new saddle for my horse and there is one on saddles direct which is the fit I am looking for but they say it is only in fair condition as it was over oiled by the previous owner. It has been kept in the drying room at saddles direct and apparently the condition has improved greatly - what damage does over oiling do? The only thing I can think of is that it will stretch the seat which in theory could be replaced and stain any clothes touching it for a while. Any thoughts anyone? Also has anyone had any dealings with the company?

Thanks in advance

think you are not ment to put oil on the underside of the saddle, as it make the stuffing go lumpy!! but could easily be restuffed, so i guess they must be talking bout the top
