Over reach boots for horses with fat feet!

I've got a section D who I assumed would fit into my old horses over reach boots (rubber bell ones with velcro on in cob size) however they really don't fit! I tried my sisters horse's ones on which are large (but she said they weren't overly generous) and they fitted the same.

The fit around the fetlock type area but don't seem that big around the bottom part of the boot and seem quite perched. I think the coronet band part of his hoof is quite large so they don't seem to fit with that shape.

Is it worth trying some other rubber bell boot make? (there are some norton ones of ebay which are cheap and in my xc colours!!!) or would this just leave me with the same problem. Are these neoprene type style more generous around the bottom part? If so, can anyone recommend any nice, generous around that area boots which aren't too expensive? Or can anyone recommend what they use on their welsh cobbies?

Thanks for any help. I'm itching to go out xc schooling but I'm not going without any over-reach boots!!

I would go for the Kevlar overreach boots from Woofwear they are generous size wise and should fit quite well.

Thank you, what size would you suggest? He's only verging on 15hh so would a medium (or cob- I'm not sure on their sizing!) be sufficient do you think?

Yes can't remember either but medium or cob should be about right

my horse has huge feet and the only ones that really fitted and stayed put where WoofWear ones. he is only a Large in them, the Xlarge are huge! But they come down far enough and are really adjustable, have a little nodule at the back for keeping in place.

They are cheap as well, im not sure which version they are, but they are the ones that have fake looking leathery/plastic stuff round them.

Get some westrop ones, you know with the petals. you can fit them to each individual horse's feet and really annoy everyone else with the noise they make ha ha ha

Glad you started this thread as i am struggling to find big enough ones for my 15hh welsh d boy,he's one shoe size down from a shire!!! I also assumed he would be a full size max but even those don't look right,the welshies do seem to have large feet in genera i reckon! I'm off to go and check the Woof wear ones out.
