Can anyone recommend me some good over reach boots for a thin skinned tb please? We have tried various rubber ones, most recently the Roma ones, but they are no good as they rub him and where he has a couple of small over reach cuts they keep getting opened up again by the boots rubbing. I wondered about the ones with a fleecy bit, although I'm wondering whether the ones that have a 'specific' way round (if you get what I mean?) are any good as I would imagine they'd end up spinning round even though they are meant not to?

Recs gratefully received :)

I also have an equally "sensitive" tb. There are only 2 x types that have proved sucessful which are the rubber overeach from Bridleway which have a a faux fur trim (I think they're about £5-10 a pair) or the better ones are the sheep skin lined Eskadron ones (about £35 a pair but wear well)

I went through EVERY kind and spent a fortune, trying all types cheap to ridiculously priced and those two are the only ones which dont rub or irritate the skin.

Good luck!

No worries atall :)

I just bung mine in the washing machine once every now and again on 40 degrees and it brings them up like new! They wear quite well too.

I always go for Cob, seems to be a good fit and my tb is LW-MW and 16.2hh

Hope that helps!

fab - thank you, that's really helpful. Sounds just like my boy :) Have you tried the Rhinegold sheepskin ones at all? They seem to be cheaper, but there's probably a reason for that :s

Oh, and welcome to the forum :)

Another vote for the Bridleway ones. Mine gets terrible sores from normal OR boots but these haven't bothered him. I got FS but they are a bit big  He is 17hh TB but has small feet, so Cob would probably have been better!

I have a thin skinned WB the best ones for us are the woofwear ones with the anti-rotation and these can come in sheepskin tops if you like.

Those sound really good. I've tried so many types too, including the Eskadron sheepskin ones, which, although better than most, still caused rubs.

BTW, Ghostie, the sheepskin ones wash and dry really well.
