As the subject implies, who is of the opinion that horses that wear 400+ grams worth of rugs,when it is not really that cold, actually need clipping more regularly than horses that wear less rugs? I say this as i am of the opinion that when you whip 400+ grams worth of rugs off a horse the body gets a bit of a shock with the temperature drop and the body says to grow more hair, just a thought
The 2 that i clipped last year were only done twice, admittedly they had blanket clips but neither went into any heavier rugs than the equivalent of 350 grams and the temp dropped and stayed around the -15 mark for over a month, they also only ever went out in medium weights in the field.
