But was soooo close to being ripped off!
Long story but about a month ago i went in with a visit from the dentist thinking my mare just needed a rasp.
Turned out she had a severly overgrown tooth that she had since she was a youngster. (Id only had her a few months hadnt noticed anything up until a few weeks before then)
He said the CHEAPEST it will be is £110 then + a sedative
But it could be more as it was going to be a few hours work.
Well obv i had to save up as i dont have a money tree!
So today a livery had her dentist up and asked him to look at her teeth for a second opinion. He said yes its bad but the quote you got is ridiculas. So he did her teeth for £35!! She didnt need a sedative and she was a little angel .. almost

Yippee! Gotta love it when that happens. Suppose it drives home that sometimes a second opinion can save you a lot of trouble and money!

Glad you got everything sorted, and at a fraction of the price

What a major difference a good dentist makes to your horse, you AND your purse lol

It's not easy to find someone you can trust! Finally after 15 years of being in horses, I have FINALLY found a dentist, farrier, Vets, instructor and saddler I trust and value!! I did have a back person but she has moved out of the area and I have lost touch with her.... so just need to find a back person again! Lets hope it doesn't take me another 15 years to have the complete package lol xx
