Over Using Salt Lick?

My pony has had a salt lick in his stable for the past year and a half which he has always used quite happily. For the past two weeks he has been licking it far more than I would call normal. Is this a sign of anything? He seems healthy otherwise. Many thanks

Is he on a good vit and min supplement ? maybe an idea, I've had one of those hymalaya ones hanging in my stabel since god knows when, mine hardly touches it
