overdose spot on flea treatment?

Advice please - I've a load of 20-40 kgs spot on treatment going out of date next month (I always buy in bulk but lost a dog 12 months ago so not used) new dog is about 10-11kgs - can I put on half a dose for her or is the stuff in the 10-20kgs different in some way? or do I need to bin this stuff and buy some 'right size' stuff (seems a waste!)

I personally buy in bulk and put half dose on the smaller dogs...

I wouldn't.

It's the same stuff. Just read the carton and work out the approx. amounts in each vial. There will also be a large tolerance for overdose. Maybe look that up too.

thanks all - it was the tolerance that made me think about it - if what I have is effective for 40 kg dogs then it's twice what a 20 kgs dog needs !

If you are going to do this please check with your vet first. Is it worth the risk?
