overexcited horses!

Arrghh! So embaressing! Farrier today, first horse threw a bit of a strop, pulling away etc., second one has been poor with his feet recently, well once we got to nailing he was pulling every foot away, trying to kick and generally being a bold beastie, poor farrier, kept hearing worrying grunts! Eventually he belted him, after that he behaved moderately to bad, and I have no qualms about the reprimand as it was not done excessively, very embarassing though, gave farrier a little christmas bonus and apologised profusely!
Said beastie has been bouncing recently....in fact everything is off the walls, please let it end? Since I'm going to be on the receiving end 'tapping' his hoof to try and get him a bit better behaved for next time.

Must be the day for it, Emerald butted Wilf this morning, I came round the corner to farrier who resembled a weeble (wobbles but doesnt fall!) it was an accident but I still felt bad. I made him 3 cups of coffee while he was here

lol! I did offer him tea..I just got the impression that some of those grunts were man related

. Gave him choccolates too, they just love making us look like fools!

Poor farriers, im sure they thought they did something bad in a past life lol.

Let Mae into the arena today to clean her out, normally she stands at the gate waiting to come in again as she knows i will have some food for her. Today however she decided to gallop around the arena throwing massive bucks. Must be something in the air.

Its definately the day for it! Beau was extremely sharp today, which was good and bad - good for Trot to halt in 1 stride, bad for wanting to trot all the time.

My girlie has been a crazy beast too!! So much so that on Saturday night I had to lunge the legs off her just so I could think of going for a hack on Sunday morning. She was hilarious - bucking, spooking, leaping all over the place. Then I put the side reins on to make her do a bit of work and the look on her face was a picture - she was enraged! She did work nicely with the side reins on, but I was still mighty glad I was on the ground instead of in the saddle!
I think it is a combination of the wind, cold and the fact that there's always the 'Christmassy buzz' in the air this time of year. Also lots of shows going on at our yard, which definitely sets her off too.
