Overreach boots for turnout

My old boy wears a type of eggbar shoes, unfortunately he is quite good at pulling them off at times. To reduce this, I keep overreach boots on him. Normally this works well but this week we have been pulling them off and a rapid rate. Presumably due to the mud which is pretty bad in places at the moment. Normally I use cheap velcro ones but they aren't lasting, Which ones do you recommend?
 
Premier Equine Ballistic ones are very good. Cover all of the heels/ bulbs, are really tough but light and have an inner nodule to stop them spinning
 
My last horse had this problem, and the best ones for him were the Eskadron neoprene ones. A bit more substantial than rubber, and once his schooling boots got a bit tatty they would be demoted for turnout. But I think it comes down to trial and error finding which brand andv style fits the shape and size of their feet best.
When he pulled a shoe he would often take quite a bit of foot with it, which did nothing to help the poor farrier's efforts re his foot balance. Most winters there would be several weeks when the mud would be just too thick and sucky for him to be able to go out safely, so the poor soul would be kept in and put on the walker until the ground improved a bit.
 
My mare was fine with overreach boot so no summer but has pulled her overreach boots and then a shoe twice in the last two weeks! The Velcro is still done up so not sure how she manages it. However my friend has suggested sausage boots as an alternative, they do the same thing but should hopefully stay put better, I can't comment on their effectiveness yet have just ordered some from Amazon (only £5 each) but will report back once tried!
 
I found both equilibrium over reach boots or Dalmar by horseware good for turnout. Dalmar my preference. Expensive but worth it rather than replacing shoes and potential lameness issues
 
Before I gave up and did away with shoes (this is the horse that once pulled off two back shoes in the stable) I used the following combination.

One pair of no turn neoprene of similar (the PE ones fit the bill) that fit really well and snugly, then over these a pair of standard rubber overreach boots a bit on the big size.
 
I'm going to try this, once box rest is finished!!
Oh Mole Valley has great ones reduced to £10 a pair, they really do last and stay put.
