Just wondering what all you peeps thought about putting overreach boots on a horses hind legs. I think its fine but depends what you are doing I guess.

am thinking about this, recently took a horse on loan who's brushing behind at the coronet band. Farrier (his usual) is due tomorrow so will ask him. I have some old westrop ones I can stick on.

I use overreach boots on all 4 feet Shen in stable and field as horse has a habit of standing on herself and pulling shoes off in stable

I do with my mare as she's a bit of a clutz and keeps managing to stand on her own back legs cutting them, she's got enough scars as it

I used to use them on a horse that had a habit of ripping his back shoes off in the field

We used to put overreach boots on our unshod Welsh pony when he was out hunting in case a clumsy great shod hunter trod on his heels!

Hi sorry to high jack the post and im not trying to be stalkerish at all. Woody is my old horse and ive been trying to trace him for years. Im so happy to see him well and would love if you could reply. ive sent you a message. xx

We put over-reach boots on our older Appy's hinds for travelling, she is shod and has been known to stand on her own feet in the wagon.

I do that with my mare too for the same reasons.

I would happily put OR boots on all round in the field or for riding if I felt the horse needed it.
