Hi All,

I expect I'm not the only one to have found this so I hope you may be able to point me in the right direction...

My new chap gets rubbed by his overreach boots, he has pink skin on his heels and I suspect he is pretty sensitive. His current boots are just bog-standard fairly soft rubber pull-ons.

Does anyone recommend any O/R boots that are soft/fleecy, but preferably without going to the extent of £35 for a set of furry Eskadrons? They are only for everyday schooling.

Cheers in anticipation!

Look on ebay for some Rinegold ones, they are just like the Eskadon ones but half the price. Mine wears them all the time as he is constantly pulling shoes off and they never rub

my clicky westrops never rubbed, both the woof wear & other ones (can't remember the make) other pairs i have had since rub. We should start a petition to make westrops cool again.

This is probably irrelevant however I bought one of my horses a pair of the fluffy Eskadrons for schooling so he doesnt tread on his shoes- they have really rubbed and marked his coronet band- they were big enough too! have gone back to the cheapo £5 pair of rubber over reach boots and they suit him much better and dont rub him even when turned out in his turn out pair them all day!

Ditto K27, I've tried various expensive ones and they all rubbed, I've gone back to the cheap rubber ones but I smear a thick layer of vaseline round the top before I put them on and they haven't rubbed since.

cheers everyone, that's really interesting, I would have been outraged if I'd spent £35 on some eskadrons to have them no better!

Cheers

I've found with my thin skinned TB who has to live in O/R boots that the woofwear neoprene ones don't rub. I think they are around £25 but well worth it. Mine goes out in them and schools in them and each pair lasts me around nine months. I find unlike with the cheap rubber ones the velcro does not loose stickiness. I'm yet to lose one in the field.

I've been having this problem with over reach boots too - and my chap has to wear his in the field as well as ridden so very frustrating!!!

Couple of weeks ago my Trizone xc ones decided to rub too so I've been 'trialling' Roma neoprene ones and so far they have been fab (cost £16.99). Think I'll be using them for xc too!!!
