overshot top jaw - any experiences?

does anyone have any experience of this? just noticed last night when pup managed to get a load of cooked rice stuck to the roof of his mouth

Not uncommon and the problem it causes varies with the spacing and how the the teeth fit or interlock.
Obviously as it is an hereditary tendency and the breeder needs telling.

I see it a lot in mixed breeds.
 
In a puppy it may well resolve itself as it grows;in bull terriers this is almost always the case,in fact we like an overshot jaw in a pup of three months,because by nine months it will be a perfect bite. At these times the lower jaw grows faster than the top,guess the bone is occupied with the widening of the top one just then So ,worry not,and definitely do not ask any vet..they enjoy scaring owners witless with money talk and operations that are totally not needed.
 
Isn't this a JRT type?
In which case it probably won't resolve itself but I agree on not letting a vet interfere as rarely does anything need doing. On the rare instances that the mouth won't close a couple of adult teeth may need extracting.
