Overweight riders

I'm going to steal her, what a fab photo! Wasn't Bree in the CS Lewis series a boy horse? Won't she get a complex?!

I know this thread is tongue in cheek, but don't you sometimes see lightweight riders who ride like elephants? I know some who are light, but when doing rising trot, bang down in the saddle on every stride. I know some riders who are heavier but ride much lighter with no banging around....

God yeah! Someone said I should loan my horse to a kid at the yard today. I declined, but she tried to insist that he could ride. I said 'Yeah, so can a sack of potatoes if it's tied on properly!' :D

We were a horse short recently and wanted to go for a hack so I doubled up with my friend on her TB. He behaved really well..none of the usual bucking and spooking either. :D I'm 10' 6 and she's about the same..who said TBs won't take much weight.

I'm not surprised, poor thing was squashed into submission! :D

Gosh that's REALLY tall - are you a giant ?? :)

Lovely pic Paulag !

off topic, but what a drop dead gorgeous piece of horse flesh you have there paula. His bum is pretty handsome too :)

You know I only posted it because I wanted complements. :). Unfortunately despite her being an absolute sweetie as you can see in this photo, I'm just about to limp to doctors to get my multiple injuries from being thrown off her checked out. :(

Paula if you really can't ride that horse anymore, you must put her up on her for a HHO auction !!

I would just like to add that my Shock Absorbers Level 4 work perfectly well, thank you, and I believe they DO keep me in balance. Anyone who says otherwise - well they've probably been watching me jump :o Me jumping but NOT on the horse that is.

I was thinking more swap for Dope on a Rope. :)

It's not just owners that have a problem with their weight.

She's very meanly been on a diet since I had her as she was a little porky. But I was up at the yard yesterday and she was on the horse walker and being given as much exercise as us appropriate for a four year old daily. The Yard Manager cheerfully told me that she at least was happy because she was getting more food. ;)

Me meanwhile, I have nothing to do but sit around, post on forums and eat. It's all going to end in sphericalness. Want to go to work today, but will have to take doctor's advice as not appropriate to be there without the OK.

Paula

but surely the fatter the horse, the more weight it can carry

Aaahhhhhh yes, I forgot about this rule... so I can stop going to weightwatchers now then and start feeding my horse pies :) brilliant :D

Once his butt is bigger than mine, I can get back on and go hunting :) yippeeee:D
