No one says that anymore because they want to get more money out of people who don't know any better. But then aren't there showing classes classes now for labradoodles? I think that is even more ridiculous showing mutts.

I also can't believe that people are stupid and ignorant enough to actually buy them! If people didn't buy, there wouldn't be a market and the breeding would stop.

Our GSD came unchipped and having not had 1st vaccination. When we got her the microchipping law was not in force, with the vaccinations, it can be quite hard to get the 2nd vaccination done with the same stuff as the 1st. Especially if you aren't from the immediate area and don't use the same vet practice!
However our pup was KC registered 5 Generation pedigree dog, with outstanding hip scores on both sides of the pedigree! we paid £475, so £400 for a crossbred untested dog is expensive, as mentioned, there are so many fab dogs in rescue- my parents got their crossbreed from a rescue, she was only 11 months when we got her, spayed, chipped and vaccinated, for the adoption fee!

It's not £3400 it's £400 I believe, but even so £400 is high enough. I used to work at pets at home (sadly) and someone came in with what they described as a 'puggle', pug cross something, anyway they had paid £900!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't pay £400 for a puppy either pure or cross bred. You don't pay that much more for a foal! I know quite a few people who "let the bitch have a litter before we spay her, because its cruel not to" and then rub their hands at the hundreds of pounds that come rolling in as a result. Quite often they peculiarly then delay the spaying!
I wouldn't have a labby-rotty cross either - both are mouthy types and chocolate labradors do have a reputation for being the least nice natured of their breed. I can easily see a biter coming out of this cross.
I got my lovely cat from a local sanctuary. The only thing they wanted to know was how close to the main road did I live. I was able to offer a garden (with adjoining gardens just over the fence so plenty of roaming space), on a cul de sac , and years of cat-keeping experience. No-one asked how long I was out of the house for or anything else.

ha yes, Puggle - Pug x Beagle. Cute as hell as puppies but then they grow up and look a bit odd.
I used to work for a small animal insurer and we'd have fun trying to decipher what breed a dog was as on the claim form the owners would mash the breeds (puggle, cockerpoo etc). You would get some head scratchers! I think if you know the breeding then say its a A x B. If not then just say cross breed.
