Hello, I’ve just taken on a property in East Sussex with a yard and four stables. There’s a good size barn, feed room, tack room and space to store a horse box etc and plenty of fields for all year grazing. How much should I be charging for full DIY livery? I’m in a lovely little quiet country village and the yard is well kept, the stables could do with a lick of paint but are secure and dry. Thank you!

Maybe have a scroll through past posts on this forum about being a livery yard owner! It's not always as easy as you can never tell how people are going to treat your property. However, with the right people, who pay promptly, it should work out. No idea of what to charge I'm afraid - in my area it would be around £100 per month per horse, plus extra if the barn was needed.

If you were managing it and just stables grazing and room for hay straw and tack somewhere between £110 and £160 per stable per mth. If renting as a whole to one professional you'd probably be best asking an agent to manage it. It could fetch around £500 a mth more if there is a school or fantastic hacking available

If you're on Facebook I think there's a group for yard owners. There might be a local owner on there. or, you could phone a few and pretend to be looking for livery!
