Just looking for abit of advice.....

I seperated from my husband last year, and he agreed the horses were mine. He has now decided he wants one of them... i think just to try and get to me. Now for the last 8 months he has shown no interest in any of them, hasn't helped with their care or contributed anything financially to their keep. So has he effectivly forfited his rights of any ownership? or can he just turn up one day and take the one he wants?

Thanks

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. It won't be a totally clear cut issue as it will depend on your individual circumstances so no-one will really be able to say yes or no for you. I'm guessing you have a solicitor dealing with your separation issues, you need to ask them to look into it for you. Are you able to discuss things with your husband directly, or is mediation an option for you? If you can still discuss things then you might be able to come to an easier conclusion for both of you (I know you know that all ready :)). If he's just doing it to be difficult and you can't talk to him then make sure your solicitor knows how important this issue is for you and to take a strong line on it.

Im sorry for your situation.

Are their passports in your name? Also, insurance, vets, etc. Are you named as the owner or are you both? Do you have any receipts when you bought them and if so are they in your name, his or both of yours?
