I have no idea how I am going to remember it. It is not very intuitive. You change the rein F-H the walk 5 step in the H-C corner. That feels too early. You free walk on a long rein K-M then trot metween M&C. Normally there is some medium walk to give you time to get the reins back. There is a lot more canter on the right rein. On one canter you circle immediately then go straight, in the other you go straight then circle. I practiced it today and did not get it right a single time. Arghhh. I've got till Thursday to learn it, along with P18. Mostly they are vaguely logical. This one is just odd. Either there are long gaps between movements ot everything happens all at once!

Watch Charlotte du J at the London Olympics. It is my party piece on any RS horse I ride, to do that walk on a long rein across the diagonal and have canter by the next corner. I happened to learn to ride (aged adult) at a school where they taught students to cantrer from walk and not from trot. The idea is that the learner is more secure in the saddle in walk so it is easier than sitting the trot prior to canter.

Dressage diagrams is useful. I learnt it a few hours before the actual test. It is rides fine. It is not symmetrical but maybe that is part of the challenge.

Yes I did it last weekend and gave up and had a caller in the end !

I did P2 just before and the start was identical which made it more confusing 😬

I actually really like it 🙈 the transitions make it more interesting and keep my boy listening, unlike other prelims.
It's one of the one I used to choose when there is an option.
