I want to sell my saddle on ebay, but I don't know the best way of packaging it for postal / courier delivery. I would prefer cash on collection, but to get the best price I know I have to go nationwide.

Can you help please?

I have done a couple - stout cardboard box, crisp box size or bigger, with plenty of polystyrene or bubble wrap around the saddle. I have sent them by Collect+ and Click and Send, never paid more than £10.

Hi, my friend sold a saddle a year or so back on ebay, found a big box and stuffed the sides with bubble wrap and wrapped the saddle in it too, then tape the box up, courier took it away and that went to romania or the likes, arrived perfectly...I'm going to be doing the same too and will be following her way of packaging :)

Take pictures of each stage of packaging and finished parcel. I have used MyHermes twice now for saddles, pay extra for insurance and signature on delivery, they seem to be by far the cheapest way to send parcels and delivery has been within 3 days each time. I contacted the buyers when they received the saddles to check there where no problems. Good luck with selling your saddle.

I made sure the saddle had the fleece cover on, then placed it upside down in a large cardboard box, that I had stuffed full of scrunched up news paper and polystyrene chips. Id also wrapped the saddle in a LOT of bubble wrap.

I paid extra for insurance (made the buyer pay however) as it was a saddle that was worth £900. Send with parcel force express 24, which plus the insurance was about £30.

Sent mine in a box wrapped in bubble wrap it cost me £10 for next day delivery the courier came and collected it from me at work. The buyer messaged me at 10 am to say she had received it :-)

Ditto boxes and bubble wrap etc and loads of parcel tape. I sent mine by Hermes as I could take it to a local shop and didn't have to wait in for a courier.
^^^^ me too...Morrisons flower box, they were very helpful....wrapped saddle in bubble wrap, and stuffed box spaces with newspaper....very efficient courier (not cheapest £16) gave exact collection time so no staying in.

Box from storage company, sturdy construction, saddle in fleece cover and surrounded with bubblewrap, proper packing tape, sent by Hermes, insurance and signature upon delivery. also agree with the photos of each stage of the packing just in case.
