I’ve got a riding holiday coming up. Been several times so fairly sure what I need to take but always interested in tips and hacks from other people. Love all the stuff on YouTube about travel. Always take my riding hat in hand luggage to keep it safe and wear my well scrubbed riding boots on the plane to save weight. Considering using soap bars instead of liquids as have a few of those now instead of shampoo etc. any others? Exciting times! It’s a week in Spain at Los Alamos.

First bits of advice: pack at least one change of underwear and a top/t-shirt in your hand luggage in case your bag is delayed. Take all essential medication in your hand luggage. Have the address you are going to written down on a piece of paper so you can show it to a taxi driver if your language skills aren't great. Depending on where you are flying from, take an empty water bottle that you can fill up in the airport. A lot of airports now have water fountains. Check their website.

I take my OH and his massive golf bag so I can stuff a load of spare clothes around his clubs 🤣

I'm a terrible over-packer so definitely hopeless for tips!!

When are you going? Well jel...

I've always put a sheet of paper on top of my clothes inside the case with my mobile number, home address and holiday address, flight details and dates I will be away. If necessary airport security will open the case and know how to contact me.

To save packing space take a Turkish hammam towel or a microfibre towel for use around the pool.

You can take a sandwich through airport security and onto the plane.

Have fun at Los Alamos. I had a great time there last August.

That sounds brilliant. You have the right idea about being able to survive on hand baggage for a couple of days if needs be
I buy running type tee shirts from amazon in packs of 3 as they are super quick to wash and dry and don't get sweaty
Ibuprofen tablets and / or gel if you aren't used to riding as much you might get achy
Allergy tablets in case of insect bites
Print out directions / phone numbers / meeting point info, nothing worse than getting to unfamiliar airport and phone not playing ball
I treat myself to a new pack of riding socks from amazon (5 pairs) and take those as they never go as small again (or at least I'm not into ironing socks lol)

roll your clothes as you can get much more into a suitcase and they stay crease free that way.
