Sorry P_G what part of the paragraph to you was rude? I appreciate your view, no problem at all. However I don't appreciate someone telling me that I shouldn't do it, when I know for a fact that it's fine to do so, has been a benefit to me and my horses, is done by top riders everywhere, and was NOT what I asked for!!!

Madam_Max. The justify comment was not to you specifically. Hardly arrogant, how can you justify that? I am aware of your opinions, however I think you might be arrogant as you missed my point. Mine are competition horses, which is the reason I do it. :)

I think the OP is the most arrogant "up" them self person I've ever come across on this forum. I'm surprised she lowers herself to talk to plebs like us.

i have no problem with others booting up/doing things as they wish. however i am a bit shocked that you think that those of us with horses who do not compete to such a high level take any less care of our horses. My mare gets the best of everything that i can give her, she may not be an olympic superstar but i still think the world of her and look after her to the absolute best of my ability. i may be generalising here - ans appologise if i am, but i reckon if my horse got injured (god forbid) i would be just as upset, and likely to do all neccesary to make it right as any other person. the 'paper value' of my horse means nothing to me.

well sorry P_G for my 'tone'. I am tired of coming on here for a little bit of simple advice and getting bombarded with comments, that I shouldn't be doing this, shouldn't do that etc. I didn't come on here and ask for a lecture, just an opinion on what boots were used.
Crikey no wonder so many people get fed up with coming on to these things for the shirty replies they get!

Live_Wire you are getting me worng. Yes every horse is valuable to it's owner - or should be, but I think you will find that horses at the top level of the sport may be wrapped up in cotton wool a bit more. It's no a comment that everyday riders take less care of their horses, as a matter of fact I would say they may value them in a more emotional way more so... but thats a different post altogether.

ive been under similar criticism to you, as have a lot of others, its part of the forum. I was simply pointing out that you come across as thought you think you are above the rest of us. We are all equal on here.

Nope if I had thought so I would have posted it in 'Competition Riders' forum and asked only the professionals to respond. :)

P_G don't bother replying anymore, you obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about, let her ask the 'Professionals' in Competition Riders.

Dear god - i wasnt going to reply but i have to say this - take your head out of your arse!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you've worked in the best yards in europe - good for you - so why do you need to come on to an online forum to ask advice? Surely you could just ring up one of your many esteemed employers....
You are not the only professional on here that competes there are many many top riders on here or people who train or work for top riders - not just you! However you do appear to be the only one to think you are better than everyone else.
Yes i agree its annoying making a simple post and then having people reply completely off topic - but sh*t happens - deal with it! We all do. We have all had the same replies to posts we've made - thats life.

And in response after letting out my anger at your complete and utter arrogance - i find NEW boots very good for turnout - however i dont use them anymore as they rubbed my boy and left him with a scar - NOT what you want on a competition horse wouldnt you agree?

i really dont want to become part of an argument - and my last post was from the heart rather than trying to have a go. however everyone is entitled to post in comp riders - i do. this is a great place for people to get advice and have a giggle. but i dont think getting into an argument will help matters. i do feel that you have come across a a bit superior, and a couple of your comments have shocked me slightly, but again - on a forum like this we all have differant views. however please consider how some of your comments make people feel.

Ive been watching this thread for a while and i think kayleigh and rockys reply summed up my thoughts exactly. SarahNZ you mention the paddock boots you are used to, can you not just order some more? Kiwi eventer who used to be at my old pro yard always used to be in these. Am sure shipping will be expensive but guess you will win the money back, being a pro.
