Who has one? What make? Are you happy with it and how convenient?

It is hot hot hot here right now and we find poo picking exhausting, especially with evenings of boxes to clean.

We are thinking of buying a cleaner and would welcome shared experiences

Thank you

Sorry We poo pick with tractor and trailer.

It is hot work but we poo pick am and muckout stables Pm

winter its reversed so we never do all at once.

We have just bought a Wessex paddock sweeper. We haven't used it yet. I am told they are great on short grass - so we need to top our paddocks first. It will double up for picking up the debris from topped padocks too.

I am also warned that they are not brilliant in wet weather - they leave a manure smear, but frankly I have a paddock paradise system and walking 10 acres is not at all appealling. I de-poo daily and the last few have been horrific and that's with only 2 in the paddocks. I have 2 at home which will join them in the autumn and picking up 3 barrows of manure a day on top of my fulltime job is too much.

We researched and were told that the vacuums are hard work to use and hard work to empty also, hence going for the sweeper :)

I would love a poover , but our fields are to wet in winter to justify going on them with any equipment other than a barrow!!!!
Also nervy of the sweepers as if you go to

they suggest a possible link to the disturbance sweepers cause to the grass & soil to reoccurrences of grass sickness.
Although if that were the only factor people would never sell a single sweeper ever again!!

I have heard the association with Grass Sickness but there seem to be too many variables for me to be convinced. I must find out if there is a problem in France.

It does rain here, but my need is for summer poo picking, 13 horses 30 acres and just two people is too much like hard work.

TerraVac..................absolutely amazing! Had no problems with it (4 years old now) and takes 3/4 hours per week to poo pick 14 horses (their paddocks are done once per week). Wouldn't be without it.

All we do is hook it up to the quad, and then you just sit on the quad and drive over the piles of manure (we never use the hand held hose) and then there is a lever that tips the trailer up to empty. Not hard at all :)

We have the logic paddock sweeper, does a good job and in 8 years of use has only needed one new bearing.
We also used to doseveral friends places for them as well on a weekly basis and not one of us has ever had a case of grass sickness in all that time.

We use kids.

Relatively quick. Easy to keep clean. Don't need petrol - although you do have to re-charge them occasionally. They're not free - we pay per barrow load - but they do the job!
