Paddock management costs

We have a small yard, about 8 acres of paddocks, thinking of getting someone in to weed kill and fertilise them but have no idea how much per acre is the going rate - based in Surrey.

How much do people pay?

Fertilising average rate is around £9/acre (excluding fertiliser costs)

Average rate for spraying for less than 50 acres is £7.50 (excluding herbicide costs)

I've just had my field sprayed for weeds, it's 2 acres and was £150

I you can find someone give them a kidney. I have tried for the last two years to find someone come to spray and fertilise, I have fourteen acres and would pay cash. I have tried several local famers with zilch response so am hand pulling ragwort and buying sheep I do not want. Argh!

Since it's late summer I assume that you had quite a lot of fully grown weeds and you did not have any spraying done earlier in the year? In that case 2 acres would require approximately 3.5 litres of a product like Pastor, which would be roughly £80.
