Any info much appreciated!

Basically we keep one 16.3hh shire x, one 15hh cob and one 11hh pony on a four acre ish field. The shire x and the pony are on permanant diets and the cob always needs to put weight on.

The field is a triangle shape and my friend wants to try a track system. It will be perfect for the boys BUT they can't go in together as they fight and as there is such a difference with sizes we can't risk it.

The cob and pony live together with the cob going onto a much richer paddock daily and then back with him at night which is what we'd carry on doing.

So can you have two tracks running side by side for the boys around the whole field or is it better to have 1/2 bottom and one side for one and the same on other side for the other?

Pringles and chocolate for anyone who answers xx

You could do what I do; Fence off 3 acres for a start and save for winter :) Split the remaining acre in two. Run a track system around both, So you have like a figure of eight if you're with me! have the cob that needs more in the middle bit for part of the day, the pony around the outside, and the 16.3 horse around the outside of the other paddock............follow? lol

I have been doing this with my two natives for about 4 years now and only use about half an acre this time of year. I strip graze mine by moving the fence posts in about a foot at night time when the sugar is at its lowest.

Could I have cheese and biscuits and a large white zinfandel please instead? :D

My two paddocks, the one on the right hadn't been used ( this was last year ) sorry, not very good picture as I haven't a camera atm!

I look forward to the repsonses -- I am planning a track system around my 4.5 acres and am planning some loops to keep the horses balanced by changing direction --

although I will have to feed hay which I think will put my costs up a fair bit so am intersted in anyones expereinces of the track approach

I did horse shoe shaped fields. I wasn't doing it as a paradise system - just increasing perimeter whilst keeping the area low. Included a mini hill too! then i could increase each end of he horse shoe and horse had to walk back and forth between the too arms of the horse shoe to get the fresher grass.
You could do 2 "C" shapes - one for each fatty and then have the middle for the cob.
