Please could you give me recommendations on the best paddock vacuum? Ideally it needs to be good at picking up llama/alpaca poo as well. We have been looking at the Trafalgar but want to make sure before we buy. One of the downsides of this machine is that it isn't electric start and I will find it difficult to use the pull start.

I have always had predators and tried the Trafalgar. I didn't like it as the hose was heavy to carry. I have had predators since around 2004, first the cub and now the lynx. The hose is lighter as it is supported, it is push button start. Things to consider are how to empty it. Mine has hydraulic tipping, some don't. Think where you are going to empty it and how. Also is it going to be a 2 person operation. If you have the vacuum sort with a hose they work better with 2 people, one to drive and the other to clean.

I have the trafalgar- bought it second hand. Tow it with an atv and it’s the best time saver. I find it easy to use on my own and very effective at cleaning.

before you get anything can I suggest you contact the manufacturers of each make you are interested in. Ask them for local users. They will then find you somewhere to go and try one. (this is normal practice for these) What suits one doesn't suit another. You will also get lots of tips from watching the owner use the machine.
