Despite our best attempts to manage our 2 acres over a terrible winter they've suffered badly. As a result the grass isn't coming through properly and I'm looking for some summer grazing to help me out.
What I need to know is how much is it going to cost me to get a farmer to come out and harrow and re-seed the field?
Its so churned up now that it needs flattening out and I don't have the equipment to do it. I've not contacted any farmers yet but wondered if anyone could hazard a guess at the cost?
I have the seed already.

The famers next to me would do it for a bottle of whisky to be honest. Are you on friendly terms with any of them? I think they'd probably just hazard a guess at a price as I don't imagine they have many requests for it.

I don't have any farmers near me!! The paddocks are in the middle of a housing estate, I rent them off the council! The only farmer I could ask would be the one who delivers the haylage. How long would it take to harrow and re-seed 2 acres?

I collared one of the local farmers as I was driving past his farm, and he rolled my for £14 per hr, flat rate for whatever I want doing.

Worth asking round locally, calling at local farms etc. I even got a demo of his new machine - it opens and slices the huge haylage bales so they are easier to use!!
