While the other horses stood shivering their wet clipped off coats in their ridiculously expensive heavy weight rugs, guess who nagg was dry as bone and warm as toast in his light weight cheap as chips rain sheet yesterday afternoon when the heavens opened.

sorry pointless post but I no longer feel like the cruel and heartless owner that turning their horse out in ''just a light weight rain sheet, this time of the year''

Are the Amigo's as good waterproof wise as the Rambo's ?

I have a Duo and wouldn't change it for the world as it's in it's 3rd year and is fab fab fab ........... but I want a spare and don't have the money to spend another £220 on a Rambo!

Have been looking at the Amigo's and wondering if they are as good ????

I have a whole collection of Amigos and they are fantastic, the only thing i've had repaired was a hood and that only cost 10lbs.
Just bought a new one from Cyber Checkout, they have some fab bargains and the service is always good

I think the whole horseware range is leaps and bounds ahead of their competition, even better than the brands at the top end of the price bracket. My horses have everything horseware and come out at the end of winter with no rubs and in super condition.

For the record I love Horseware rugs - Rambo and Rhino particularly. Their fit is so good but my experience of their Amigo range is a little tarnished:

Lightweight 1200D = Brilliant

Lightweight 600D = um totally useless. A sponge would have been more effective

totally agree with the poster who said Amigo 600 denier-the red one -no good, but Amigo 1200 denier lightweight -the navy blue one-brilliant.
All my horses have been out 24/7 in this torrential rain with Horseware rugs- 1 Rambo heavyweight,1 Rhino middleweight ,2 Rhino lightweight, 1 1200 Amigo lightweight all bone dry.The pony in the red 600 Amigo was wet!
The fit on the Horseware rugs suits all mine-from 7/8 TB broodmare and yearling,to solid native ponies.

Although I found the Amigo 600D gave up after a bit, only to be expected for the price I suppose, and I did still get 3 years out of mine.

I have a Rhino LW turnout now instead which has been fab. I tend to stick to Rambo for winter turnouts though, never ever let me down.

3 of us on my yard had the red Amigo lights- all leaked in summer with a fair bit of rain but prior to this the 1200 deniers lasted my horses years! However I like the fact the 600 denier is really 'light'.

At £29.95 I think the Amigo lite is fab, Had my red one 2 Summers now, washed and re-proofed up like new. Hasnt leaked and have loved it. Almost all liveries on yard had one, looked like the Red club in the field. They are also handy to throw over when tacked up in Winter to keep tack dry or just mucking out with stable rug on . Worth their weight for the money.!!
