Hi after some advice on best paint to use for jump wings and poles. We want to do striped poles so something with a variation in colours

I use an exterior with semi gloss. I think that would translate over there.

Also check these out... I love them. John made me some awesome 6' (1.82m) PVC standards. Unlike typical PVC standards we reinforced them a bit so they're still lightweight to move but sturdy holding a rail.

LOVE them so much. Will build more this year too.

Can I ask how you did you do the join to the base? I think its amazing!

OK... so read this while you can see the picture of the two feet of the two standards.

The "feet" are composite decking material because they were heavier and won't age with water and weather exposure as quickly as wood. (Even pressurized)

The feet are screwed into the bottom hollow 4x4 piece of PVC, BUT we put a couple pieces of pressurized wood inside as a base for the feet and the column of the standard upright to screw into. SO the feet are secure and the main piece of the standard is secure to a dense bit of wood, instead of just hollow PVC.

Coupled with that we secured wood in the main height piece so that the metal jump tracks could also be secured into something stronger than PVC.

Overall they're still lighter than solid wood but they hold up well and can hold a 1.40 oxer without issues of movement in wind and such. And obviously we do have 2 rails on the front so that there's a bit more stability when I am jumping high than 1.30.
