I have a pair of mountain horse richmond high rider boots which are perfect when I am riding but are completely agonising to walk in for longer than about 5 minutes. They seem to rub on my achilles tendon. Stupidly listened to the sales person who said oh they will be fine once they have broken in and they were in the sale so I fell for the sales talk. Anyone had the same problem??

Hello

I have two pairs of mountain horse boots (can't remember the makes), one are the chunkier looking ones (2 years old now) and the second pair are the lace up fronts with a zip at the back.

I love both pairs, however, I've had the same problem with both, they're not very comfortable when walking. The chunky-er ones finally settled in after 3 months or so of wearing them everyday for several hours and are now fine. However, the lace up ones are still painful but then, I only use them to compete in so they don't get much us!

Not quite sure how me telling you this helps you, but at least you know you're not alone!

Yep I've never been able to stand wearing Mountain Horse boots because I just found them too painful to walk in and cut up my ankles :( Don't know what to suggest as I tried everything! I just don't use them any more.. xx

Hmm, i get these with my zip and laced jod boots. To get to my field i sometimes use the train, and walk from the station.

i just use some proper walking boots tbh and then change.
