I'm making some jumps/fillers, but need to know what colours to paint them. I like jumps that are colour co-ordinated, (ie. poles and fillers the same colours) but I can't think of any good designs for the fillers.
I thought of a white filler with green clover leaves on maybe?
Please suggest any good designs/colours

Oh I love painting and designing jumps fillers - and agree they have to match. I love the classic red and white - that doesn't seem to popular any more. You could put the hearts, aces, spades, Diamonds on the fillers.

You could go trashy and have black/cerise pink poles/wings and then a black back ground on the fillers and a (playboy) bunny head on it.

I'll think of more I'm sure

I've painted union jack fillers before - quite fiddly as you need lots of masking tape. A simple one is a wall - paint the filler red and mark the bricks on using masking tape or painted lines.

Just out of interest, have you bought the fillers to paint or made the fillers yourself, or used something to creat a filler?

They look really good, when they're all painted up I should be very pleased, I had an old wooden partition wall, so I removed the wall and found all these great things, that could be perfect for making wings,fillers,poles,planks etc.. I'm going wild!

I'm fed up with crappy jumps that probably existed back in the 50's. They're all getting a face lift, I'm adding some colour to my arena

Sounds like a great idea, once a wall, now a great set of show jumps! I think we should have some picture posts of peoples home made show jumps, your getting us all inspired and wanting us to get out our paint brushes out now.

We've got loads of plain poles at our livery yard but I doubt the YO would trust me near them with a brush and a few tins of paint! My OH did make me some wings once, bless him and there still on once peice.

Just started to train my boy to jump (little x's just a for fun) so I best get cracking the whip hoping my OH will get his dusty tool box out, you never know by next year I might hav a course ready to jump

I would love to make my own jumps as we have none at all! I think pics would be great to inspire us. Please post when you are done!!!!!
oh and how about,
Chequerboard effect, hearts, big flowers, diagonal stripes (loved the purple/blue suggestion) stars, big triangles like sharks teeth, or rows of smaller ones. black horses on plain BG?

LOVE the chequer board idea!! I will definitely post pics!
So far I plan to make:
* 3 sets of wings (all white)
* 1 ladder filler (white)
* 3 thin planks (out of old floor boards)
* 2 large fillers (black/red chequer board)
so i will need to make 3 black/red poles, and 2 black/white poles

Can anyone come up With the last design for the filler/poles?

How about the Olympic rings with London 2012 written on it?

The header from Horse & Hound, a beach scene with stripey beach huts, tractor ploughing a field, shoes, sheep, fleur de lys, columns, traffic lights, spotted toadstools -

God, the list is endless!...
